lots of threads if you do a search - quite recent posts and very balanced/mixed views, good and maybe not so good. All personal opinions, just like anywhere in the world. I think it truly depends on the area you pick here (like anywhere).

I have also put a thread on about real estate agents here if they help you.

It's a very personal thing, but whatever you do, try and spend some time where ever you are going before you make the commitment. Cos it costs a lot more to end up going home again. Or be unhappy.

My sister lives in Alice Springs, and loves it, but at 45 degrees, I think I'd be on the next plane home !!! lol.
