Gold Coast or Brisbane??

Hello everyone, not been on for a while!! Been a little bit busy, what with the big move!
We've been here on the Gold Coast for the past 7 weeks now, renting an apartment at Robina until March, which is very nice. We love the hinterland and the beautiful beaches, to be honest it would be hard not to, however, we've driven up to Brisbane a few times now and can't help but think that maybe we should've started off a little closer to the city. Can't exactly put my finger on why i think this, but there's just something about it up there that really appeals to me. I know its early days yet, but speaking to my uncle back at home (who spent 9 months or so in Melbourne) he seems to think that we don't sound passionate enough about it here on the Gold Coast and seems to think we're not in the right place at the minute!

I do realise that we've not been here very long but maybe he's right, and we don't really want to get set up here on the Gold Coast thinking that its just a bit of homesickness that we're going through, when really it isn't the right place for us!! Is there anyone out there who is,or has been in the same situation?
