Thanks Edited November 29, 2015 by SkippyLou
Tickled Pink
There are loads and loads of swim clubs here. It will depend on where you end up living as to which ones you look at. I wouldn't worry until you're actually here, its not going to be difficult at all.
calNgary
I agree with the above post about finding an area then having a look around. On saying that if your child has 'national / olympic' potential you may want to check out Chandler Swim club - http://www.chandler.swimming.org.au/ Cal x
Quoll
You will be spoiled for choice! If she is competing at national level you might want to look at where her competitors train. Some coaches have more of a distance focus whilst others are more into sprinting. Some coaches do better with particular strokes over others. One thing for sure, there's going to be a hell if a lot more top class competition.
SkippyLou
Thanks all...she is at County level...as she is only 9... (will be 10 next year)but definitely a Breaststroker... I am keen to find a club before we go as it is a big part of her life here in the UK and I know she won't want to be out of training for long!! Tickled Pink
I wouldn't even worry at that age about finding a club before you go. Swimming here is part of every day life if that way inclined and there are 50m pools just about every other suburb. I'd concentrate on the big stuff - like getting a visa - rather than sweating on that stuff. If she were 16 it would be different, but at 9 just about any swim club will cater for her standard. SkippyLou
Lol thanks... Hubby is sorting visa stuff...so I'm on schools and swim club... It took me a long time and effort here in the UK to find a good swim club, which we currently travel to hence wanting to do my research for Aus.. Tickled Pink
Swimming in the UK is not at all like it is here. Finding a 50m in the UK is a challenge, here its routine. As a previous poster said, swimming here is way more competitive and common. So many kids do it.
