Me and my daughter are hoping to move to Brisbane or the Gold Coast area.
It would be great if I could hear from families that have moved there and to give me their experiences of life living their. Did you make the right choice? Is it good for families?
I feel real life stories are much better than just information.

I live in BRisbane and have done since early 2005. OH and me love it here and knew it was right for us within 2 weeks of being here. It is a very family orientated area as is the Gold Coast (but I wouldnt want to live there). We had never been to oz before and we made a great choice. Anything specific that you wanna know?

I have never been to Australia but have always been drawn by it. Me and my daughter hope to visit Australia soon, especially Brisbane/Gold Coast area. What are the people like their, are they friendly and welcoming. I hear so many mixed reports.
I am hoping to study physiotherapy in Australia once I can sort my finances. Is education good there for children?
Also, with studying their I may need child care, is it expensive?
Do you know the average price for renting a house?
So many questions so I wont ramble on too much.
Hope your enjoying life their and please keep in touch.
Good to know I can speak to someone who is in the place I hope and dream to be in the near future.
Hiya we moved to the Suberb of Springwood not too far from Brisbane or the Gold coast.we have been here since 9/8/07.Our daughter 16 and son 14 came over with us.They have settled in well Adam has just started school and Rochelle has just been offered a job, she has the option of going back to school in Jan if she wants to.Pip starts work next week and I started work this Monday. We have been busy since we arrived but we always make time at the weekend for the four of us to go out as a family.Sringwood is about half an hour to either Brisbane centre or the Gold Coast so ideally situated. The people have all been very friendly and helpful. There always something going on somewere.Hope this helps you can contact us on colandpip@hotmail.co.uk for any further help if you want would glad to be of use. I live on the Gold Coast, Upper Coomera and I love it, after living in London, the city life of Brisbane and it's aging Suburbs did not appeal to me. I bought a large plot of land and built a new house. For me I wanted to live near the beach, I am a 10min drive.
My Son is 10 and enjoys the lifestyle, he is settled at School and we live close by to the Theme Parks - WetnWild, Movie World, Dreamworld. We have annual passes and are always in and out of the parks.
Depends what type of lifestyle you are after, but I guarantee that you won't be disappointed, wherever you choose.

Hiya we live behind the gold coast ,and settled here as it gave us everything we wanted as a family. Space but not too rural and shops and schools within 5 min and beaches at surfers paradise etc 40min drive away.If we need to go to the city its about 45min drive but thankfully havnt needed to yet.(traffic nightmare)Child care averages out around $45 per day (my daughter goes to ABC)although depending on what type of visa you get you can get childcare assistance off Centrelink, you can also (again subject to visa) get rent assistance and family support whilst you find your feet .hope this helps a bit
