Hi batman or was it Bateman !!!

Anyway we have also had that thought as we are going to the sunshine coast and my husbank is studying in Nambor and we do not have enough money for a property but may have enough for land and the idea of living in a caravan on our own land sounds great!!
Hippy commune here we come! Look forward to any replies of interest.

Hi Batman and Yvonne,

It depends where you buy your land, we bought on a development and they usually have covenants ie. one of ours was that you couldn't put a caravan on the land and build. However, if you buy acreage you probably can, they'd never see a caravan amongst the trees!!

The councils on the Sunshine Coast are Maroochy (Maroochydore), Coloundra and Nambour.

Hope this helps, Jarvl.

Hi
we had a chuckle the other day, we assume that on one of the "estates" where you can buy land and a house off plan or buy the land and build yourself...... There must be something to say you have to build something reasonable in a short space of time if you are doing it yourself or we can picture us sat in a caravan with a half built house with building rubble all around as we start and stop over the years as and when we have money and all the other houses around all pristine and finished and us looking like the English Pom Clampits!!!!! Ha Ha Ha

Lots of people buy land for investment reason with no intention of ever building.... you see lots of 'gaps' in well established streets.

You could always put a 'shed' on your land and become 'Pom Clampits'........ there are some fantastic sheds out here, the size of a small house in the UK!!!
