Too hot for the Imp's?

Right then guys, need some help. Mrs Imp has started to worry about the temperatures in Brizzie, thinking that the iccle Imps will cook over the summer.

My logical arguments that there are children there already that survive beyond their 5th birthdays is falling on deaf ears and I need you all to tell me how great it is to live somewhere that is comparitively warm all year round. PLEASE!

Either that or I am off to Perth!

If anyone thinks it is too hot, please write in really tiny, preferably white font!

Great reply Chelle.......... Pink as always!!!!
But my daughter is fair skinned (freckles & auburn hair) and she goes bright PINK in the sun really quickly (and that's not a good look!!)............. so were heading for Melbourne.
Im sure your iccle Imps will be fine, if you take Chelle's pink advice... but dont leave them in the pool toooo long or they might shrivell up!!!!

Slip, Slop, Slap

Hi Mr Imp.
Tell your wife not to worry just follow this :-

Slip, Slop, Slap!
Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen and slap on a hat,
Slip, Slop, Slap!
You can stop skin cancer - say: "Slip, Slop, Slap!"

That's all you gotta do!! simple aint it!

My youngest son is really fair hair and skin (one of these non tanning people!), we went for 5 weeks, they sell loads of beach wear over there t-shirts etc.. and they have a UVA 50 or more protection in them. My two boys spent all day at the beach with these Fantastic tops on and they did not burn at all!!! My husband bought one in the end as he was fed up with all the cream. The children in the schools even wear hats. My niece lives in Adelaide now and is 5 she gets up in the morning goes straight to the bathroom puts her sun cream on then gets dressed, it's matter of getting into a good habit. My sister buys the huge container full of suncream from the supermarket.

My cousin has lived in Brisbane since he was 2 and his 43 now!! Cause its safe you just gotta SLIP SLOP SLAP

X

Dear Imps,

Don't know about Brissie (but CalNGary sure to!).

Do know that Perth can, and does, achieve 45deg c in Summer. We were in Perth in March for 3 weeks, officially autumn, and all but 5 of our 21 days were over 30deg c, and we had 35-37deg c for about 3 days in a row. It was very hot.

Cheers,
Rachel

Thanks guys - fortunately we are already paranoid about the sun thing, have the little sun suits already and they are ace, no faffing with sunscreen!

Hot hot hot, love it!

Abi&Dan is on a distinguished road
All true - I grew up in Oz 20 years ago and they were doing the slip slap slop way back then - totally ingrained into the lifestyle and your kids'll pick it up way faster than the grown-ups who have bad habit - non-UVA protection - built in and will need to grow out of it!!

Hiya we or the kids have never found the heat or humidity a problem ,both kids are blonde but havnt had any problems ,most schools have hats as part of the uniform ,no hat no play ! the 'rash vests' are a norm if your going to the beach (glad i bought lots in asda) as as everyone else says keep on top with the suncream. We arrived here in november and i have used the air-con probably 6 times since then although in the car i use it quite alot,it really isnt much to worry about.
Cal x
