EM&M will become famous soon enough
Trudy,

July will be nice in the day time, but dont forget to take jeans, jumper and a coat for the evenings, you will be suprised how chilly it can feel when the sun goes down. First time I went in winter was 26th July for my honeymoon, had always gone in Jan before and I ended up having to buy Jean, jumper and stuff.

Have fun.......wont be long before we're in the Gold Coast I hope

Em x

Hi and good luck to you,
Just wanted to tell you I love Cairns, its got a nice old town feel to it , its full of backpackers and wealthy Japanese tourists so heaps of restaurants at all levels, lots of pubs, something you don't see much of in Australia (honest), lots of shops, and when we were there the weather was very pleasant, but it was winter. Oh, and theres hardly any traffic. A good market. And Port Douglas just up the road, about 40 mins I think.for more shopping and another good market. And Sunday night cane toad racing if thats your thing. Public transport is not good..
Don't know how I'd feel on my own, I might chose somewhere bigger.
Loads of people don't like it I know, perhaps I'm weird.
Its great for diving too obviously.
On the bug front, we spent 3 months camping round Oz, lots of time in Queensland and never saw a spider , which is good as I am pathetic, more than pathetic actually.
However, on another visit to Sydney I saw 3 huntsmen in family homes in the space of 2 weeks. They are vile. I was also unable to walk down one suburban street due to the enormous yellow kneed hobnail boot wearing orb spiders in every tree. It seems to be seasonal same as here, that was autumn.
Wish there were more snakes, they might eat the spiders.
Hope to be useful
Alyson (seriously considering hypnotherapy before we go)

Hi by any chance is your prospective job with shine lawyers? if so then snap im in the same boat as you!! still waiting on a decision though so trying not to think too much about it at present until i get the green light!

havent yet posted a thread on this site but have found it very useful for places to live etc think you just have to choose a place you like altho its so hard cos in my interview i said them all!!! oh god hopefully i didnt seem too keen! oh well who cares cos i am keen!

i too will be going to Oz on my own as my fella is still studying so hopefully he will be able to travel out this time next year to join me and if i dont get it then we plan to travel over to oz anyway and see what happens! i am so scared about doing it on my own but think it will be an amazing experience!!

anyway if it is with shine then keep me posted if its a yes or a no and good luck! sounded to me like they had a few positions - at least 10 i gathered! if its not sine then good luck anyway!

if i do get a yes will be posting my own thread and asking for tips and hints!!
