Pools?

Very flippant question!!

Been looking at real estate website for QLD - spec Sunshine Coast - to see what you can get for your cash.

Georgeous houses etc but ... no pools!? Haven't found a single house with a pool - there's more in Melbourne!!

Is this normal - am I looking in the wrong place or is there a reason for it?

Abi

The only thing I've heard about pools is that it is more unusual to find a property with a pool if the property is near the sea, the ground will be to rocky!

Would explain it - but huge bummer - OH wants to be close to the sea (grew up in Torquay and I have tried to explain it's not quite the same but as the differences are all positive I'm fighting a losing battle!!) - I won't swim in the sea for any money (yes, yes including sharks and I am aware how unreasonable that is - but I'm also terrified of spiders despite the fact that no-one's died of spider bites since anti-venom was developed!) - so I want a pool.

Looks like we'll have to compromise (and we all know what that means - hello pool!!)

Cheers (btw Tracy your notes re pets really made me laugh - I must be evil! )

Hiya ,nearly every private owned house around here as a pool (including mine now) ,you tend to find not many rental properties will have pools as they need maintaining but i cant understand why you cant find any around sunshine coast area, land can be a problem ,with rocky soil, clay soil etc because of movement ,but if in one of these area you tend to find above ground pools,i agree with pippycol ,keep looking they will be some somewhere around there,,

Jarvl will become famous soon enough
We live on the Sunshine Coast and have a pool as do most of our neighbours..... Maybe they are just not being mentioned in the adverts as we are in autumn now??? I can assure you many houses here have them.

Regards, Jarvl
