we thought of Jimboomba to settle once we get to Brisbane and we looked it up on the net, it looks beautiful but we wondered if it was a bit isolated, can anyone enlighten us.

Hiya ,,its far from isolated ,appart from having its own resources and housing thousands of people ,we are 15 min from the new uni and shopping centres of Springfield Lakes,20 min to the hustle and bustle of the Grand Plaza at Browns Plains ,35 min to the beaches of Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, most people around here work within a 30 / 40min radius ,in areas such as Slacks Creek,Underwood,or on the coast.Check out the websites above i gave to Batman as they will give you an idea of how big one estate is.In the local paer on friday the future plans over the next few years involve ,50,000 people living in Flagstone alone ,having its own training hospital and updating the rail connection. You could also have a look at Beaudesert council as Jimboomba comes under these. If you need anymore info just ask,,i have also been informed a local ozzy guy is starting up a meet and greet in this area due to the amount of people settling here as there is a lack of short stay places in and around south brisbane.Hope this helps

We've also looked at Jimboomba - our friend lives in Ashmore and is trying to get us to move closer to him but I like the look of the Jimboomba primary school... and it helps that you can get more from our equity over here.
Approx hour far is it from South Brisbane. My OH is a Fitter and looking at Seek most of the jobs seem to be in this area.... is it a do-able coomute? Also, what facilities do they have for children. I've a girl whose nearly 8 who loves riding, another girl who's 5 who loves to dance (although if it get's anymore provocative (she's into Cats at the mo) we may be sending her off to singapore to be a pole dancer) and last my no means least a 3 year old boy who's just really chilled! Does the area offer enough to keep them all busy. Is it a big family area??
my advice would be to pm calngary, she is the resident expert on all things jimboomba

cHEERS Batman ,not sure id say expert but ill help.
For the kids there is more than you can do ,,Jimboomba,Cedar Vale and Cedar Grove are all next to each other ,between them there is a couple of pony clubs , gymnastics, scouts, soccer, rugby, netball, swimming club, little athletics, skate park ,there is loads most meet one or two evenings and weekends,i would imagine Jimboomba school also have after school clubs and it has its own pool but it isnt undercover and can get very hot,it is open to the public weekends and holidays.
Commute wise ,i would say south Brisbane is about 35 min ,it depends were thou ,the nearer you go to the city the worse the traffic gets.Alot of people get work in Ipswich or Slacks creek way, many also commute to gold coast.
hope this is of help
