Sunshine Coast Property Boom?

Hiya
We are in the process of applying to live in Oz thru skilled sponsored 138 and would like to live possibly on the sunshine coast. Loved Coolum, Maroochy etc. We went back over in Aug 06 and heard that in the nxt couple of years or so the Sunshine Coast will be one of 'the' places to live. Is this correct and would it be a good place to buy now?
We also loved Byron Bay in NSW but dont think we could afford to live there as it is already a tourist mecca.

Does any1 know if its easy to get a job in a private primary school in Queensland? :?

Thanks for any advice
Dugong :P

Hi!
Although I can't answer your questions I was wondering the same. We've just started visa process and have booked a trip to visit in Aug to try and get an idea of houses especially around the sunshine coast. I'm a primary teacher so if anyone has any info on teaching jobs please let me know.
Thanks

Hiya,,i think everywere in and around Brisbane is going through a boom at the moment and you wouldnt go wrong anywere ,the only thing to watch is the rentals according to the news everywere is having a bad time with sometimes 8 or 9 people applying for one property ,theres too many people and not enough houses so getting somewere can take time ,people are actually offering $10 & $20 above the rental price per week just to try and secure one.hope this helps

Hi, we moved to the sunshine coast in Nov 06, this is a fabulous place to live, and it is currently a great time to buy. We got a great deal with this house in Pelican Waters, Caloundra, its a buyers market at the moment, but there has been a lot of activity over the christmas period, many people investing here. Prices are set to rise and it will be boomtime in the next few years.
I have to travel around a bit for work, but its worth it to come home to this lifestyle.
My advise - definately live on the sunshine coast.

Hi Bladder,
Thanks for your advice-it's just what we wanted to hear!
On our last holiday in Aug 06 we didnt get the chance to explore Caloundra all though we did pass through it. We have heard there are lots of British people (like yourselves) living there which is a very comforting thought! How are you finding life in Oz and is it all you expected it to be? We aren't wearing any rose tinted glasses about the move (when it eventually happens) and are prepared for a roller coaster ride! Im particularly anxious about finding a teaching job and 'fitting in'.
Any more advice, greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Dugong
