Hiya i wouldnt live in surfers as like most coast areas i have seen in Brisbane is abit touristy but the patrolled beach and decent waves do it for us ,and its probably one of the nearer beaches. To check out housing etc around here try realestate.com.au ,which is one of the few ways to get acerage now as the majority of new land sales are half acres due to demand ,the estate web is www.flagstoneestate.com.au,, This is one of two estates with its own schools, child care and shops ,so that was a good pointer for us ,the other estate ,although you wont get acerage is Springfield lakes ,which are currently building a shopping centre ,being there would add another 10/15 min to your journey we found it to be like a UK estate with many more houses 'squashed' in.hope this helps, forgot to say use postcode 4280 for property search and that covers Jimboomba and nearby areas.
Cal x

Thanks for that, it all seems a bit hectic (housing market wise) at the moment in SE QLD.

I notice Perth has slowed and prices are dropping there with some predicting a 20% drop this year (after a 40% rise last year). I wonder if the high activity in QLD is as a result of Perths upswing (with increased lack of affordability) and the continued bouyancy in SE QLD is just the tail end of Perths rise and fall. Lets hope things stabilise in the next 12 months.

We'll be there within 6 months (hopefully) then we'll have a period of renting while we decide on somewhere where we want to live.
