Sub Class

We are hopefully moving to Brisbane through a transfer with my husbands job. Our application has been submitted for a Sub Class 747 visa. This has all happened rather rapidly ( started the middle of Nov 06) and we are currently waiting for the final approval. Medical info has arrived in Oz and has been cleared....the visa wait has just began.

Has anyone else gone through this process and how quickly is the last part and also how definite is it at this stage. He has a start date of the 19th of Feb for his new post! Have been told the rest is just a formallity?? :?

Hey there, weve just been thru all of what your going thru and were happy to say it went all soo smoothly, the visa wait was agonising, was just me being impatient, but it took about a month and that was during christmas. we arrived in sydney end of dec and just moved up to coffs harbour for 6 months, then were heading to brisbane.
pete's new company sponsered him too and i have to say have been fantastic thru out.

hope it all goes well for you guys and let me know how your getting on. oh have you been to brisbane b4? if not its a gorg place, bit far away from the beach but other than that, its a great city.

Thanks for your reply. Did this all happen 06? If so you must have just arrived!!!

Our visa was submitted 21st of December so we are hoping to have it back soon? A bit scared to book flights just in case but have noticed the prices are increasing loads daily, what did you do? Did you wait for the visa? Also did you have to send your passport away for the visa to be added or is it all electronic now?

Loads of questions!!!

No we complete nutters and have never been to oz before, my husband, myself and our 3 kids are all packing up and going....aggghhhh. I do have a brother that lives in Brisbane and another that has just received his visa and is hoping to head to brisbane in August.

It is great to here that all went smoothly for you also as I sometimes feel all has gone sooooooooooo smoothly and so quickly and you hear of others that have been at it for 18 months to 2 years.

Hey there Collete,
Hows everthing going for you guys? i know its hard at times and im the least impatient person when it comes to things like this ha ha. but as you say it will be well worth it. yes it did all happen in 06, pete got the job sept 06 then we flew out beg Dec 06. reguarding flights, i was constantly watching the prices increase daily and so wanted to book them b4 visa came thru. initially we had to pay for flights and then they pay for it when we arrived, but then as soon as the visa arrived, they sorted it and paid for it all so it was a load of our minds. there was a lot of waiting from the min pete got the job and its like everything came to a stand still, the visa came and then it was just one big rush to get stuff sorted, so yeah id defintly wait untill you got your visa confirmed, as you never know whats gunna happen (not that anything will) i think things went a little quicker as ive got an aussie passport as i lived on the sunshine coast and Gold Coast for almost 12 years. ive been away from aus for 7 years, and i must say its great to be back.

Do you know which part your heading to in Brissie? i know it quite well as ive got losts of friends who live there. were looking forward to moving there in 6 months. its great in Coffs Harbour (fantastic beaches) but i do love the big cities.

P.s forgot to say that yes your visa is electronic, pete had to go get it put in his passport when we got here. so when you arrive in Aus, it just comes up on pc i guess.
