Hiya we are in the Gold Coast Hinterland with 2 young kids 3 & 7.We have had a few hot days but nothing unbearable. Our eldest is loving the amount of time he can play out on his bike and has made alot of friends,i have never been to Adelaide so cant really compare but i dont think we would move very far now and theres always air-con ,,

Hiya mossies can be bad but we found all areas are different and (touch wood) they dont seem too bad here ,we are in Flagstone ,Jimboomba on the border of the gold coast hinterland and Beaudesertshire ,its semi rural but also has new estates being built or extended. Our nearest and best beach is at Soutport /surfers paradise it takes approx 35/40 min in a car from our home ,the cbd is about the same in the opp direction ,depending on traffic ,the traffic in the city is bad hence alot use public transport .We are about 10/15 min from the major development at springfield lakes where they are building a uni and town centre, There are a few english familys settling around here ,decent property prices ,acerage property ,good schools and shops near enough are attracting us to the area ,
If i can help anymore just ask

dawn courage
hello batman,
would thoroughly recommend the gold coast, it has everything an POM could want. We have met lots of POMs here, and its very family orientated. My son is 10 and has already joined and played for a local soccer team and a cricket team. My husband got a job in the first month and i recently bought a mortgage broking franchise.
There are many more opportunities here we think.
We have been bitten a bit by mozzies, usually at the cricket grounds, but are getting used to putting on spray etc before we go out.
Weather is hot, but we would be disappointed if it wasn,t.
Been here since May and done loads including buying house and mortgaging.
please ask oif you want any local advice
Dawn
