Camper vanned Sydney to Airlie Beach back in 1990. Have lots of memorys of Hervey Bay...Seeing a whale on the first day of the Whale watchin season, and eatin large....very large pizzas and signing the visitors book whilst eatin them at place I believe was called O'Riley's or somethin similar. Any Poms settled in this area ? Whats it like....weather... real esate.....jobs..etc. Gonna visit next year...whats the advice on best time to come.

I too have fond memories of Hervey Bay.

I met my kiwi husband in a backpackers at Airlie Beach in October 1988.

We are looking to move to Brisbane next year. 3 kids, 1 dog later!

Yea...I fell in love in Airlie Beach, too......with the sun...the sand...the Whitsunday Islands....THE PEOPLE.....and guess what....I'm still passionately in love with the place....Its pouring with rain outside and 4 degrees....Please fly me there...RIGHT NOW !

Good luck with your move to the Brisbane area. Been lookin there myself, especially north of the city. There are some fantastic buys on the real estate market. Keep in touch
