Hoping to settle in Qld next year......Buderim? E'Hill?

Still waiting for a case officer... but, if all goes well we hope to be there next year.
Based on previous visits/holidays and current property prices we are looking at either Buderim or the area around Eatons Hill/Samford/Ferny Hills.
We heve been there (briefly!) but realise hols are a bit different from living there.
The three younger children (8,6 & 6) would be happy anywhere I think but we don't want the two older ones (14 & 16) to be isolated?
Any info at all re schools, commuting times (from E'Hill), local community, hospitals (partner is a nurse) anything at all in fact, would be very, very welcome... otherwise we might end up in Perth!!
Cheers and best wishes.

Hello Billabong

I don't live in the forsaid areas,I live in Redcliffe on the coast and my 2 kids (14 & 12) have sttled in well.My mate and his family live on Mount glorious just outside Sampford and they love it,the schools seem to be ok and his kids have settled in,but as i said he lives a bit out so his kids might go to local schools. Now i know someone that lived in Ferny Hills and they said it is the last station on the train line so for your older kids in might be a bit more difficult to get into Brisbane ,but saying that Redcliffe doesn't have a station either so i am in that boat or i will be in a couple of years. Now i have not heard anything negative about the areas you listed so it might be worth you visiting them at different times inthe day to get a feel of the areas(we did that and thats why we ended up in redcliffe).
what i have written might help or might not but you may well get some one on here from those areas. When are you coming out?
Good Luck
Jamie

Hi Jamie
Many thanks for your reply and sorry haven't got back to you - belive it or not have been laid up with the flu and totally out of it.
Will take your advice and do the reccy but that could be anytime between March and August... we're only at the stage of waiting for a 'case officer to be allocated' - application was acknowledged 21/9 so we're waiting.
We've decided on Qld but don't know anyone so could end up anywhere although I know Buderim a little bit. The two older kids have come round to the idea, they've both been to Oz twice before... they like the idea but are used to popping into Manchester on the bus with their mates so it's a difficult one.
It's trying to settle on a 'good area'... in terms of schools, hospital for work, and a decent house for your money, we'll need a 5bed for 400-600 absolute max but don't want to be right on top on the neighbours.
Anyway, cheers mate, any help is good for me.
Steve.
