Caloundra

Hi,
I've spent a few weeks in Caloundra and very nearly bought a business there. What do you need to know?

We would like to know about public transportation in Caloundra? Do we certainly need a car or we can manage without it?
Is it only a vacation place as I have heard:) ?
What do you think is the best area to live ?
Also you could just talk about life in Caloundra:)

We would like to know about public transportation in Caloundra?
A. Public transport is good, plenty of buses and cabs but no main train line yet but one in planning for 2012.

Do we certainly need a car or we can manage without it?
A. You do not need a car as everything is close by ie shopping, beach, bottle shop

Is it only a vacation place as I have heard:) ?
A. It is a vacation spot for pepole in Brizzy as it is the closest proper beach to them here, but saying that Caloundra is a comunity in its own right not a holiday resort.

What do you think is the best area to live ?
A. There are lots of nice areas

hope that helps

Matt

We thoth that we stay a week in a hotel and in that time start to look for a rental. But as I can hear there could gome problems with that??:(
What do you think we should do? Book renatls ahead :);) or book another week in a hotel??? Or we manage???
Any info essential!

Thing is we don`t have any friend or relatives ahead, but I think we aren`t the first ones:)

We are also moving to Caloundra in the middle of November. Apparently rentals are snapped up quickly, but we will wait to see where we are renting, rather than do it beforehand. Once we get set up with work, we'll buy asap.
Caloundra is a beautiful place, and we can't wait to get over and start our new life. We don't know anyone, but hopefully we'll make friends before long. I thought it had a rail link to Brisbane? Oh well.
