Hi Jules

We have just arrived back from a reccie in this area and it was really nice we stayed a few minutes drive from Alexandra Hills in a place called Ormiston. I must stress this is not our opinion but the people we spoke to there would not live in Alexandra Hills or Capalaba. I'm not sure what they were basing their opinion on but we drove round there and it looked fine to us with some nice houses and streets.

The area is called Bayside and there are quite a few lovely areas around that part of Brisbane. There is a small beach at Raby Bay ideal for little ones but houses are big and expensive. In Cleveland main centre there are plenty shops restaurants etc and a really nice harbour with some lovely boats. There is a big shopping centre in Capalaba where you can get anything you need.

If you look under talk of Queensland on this forum you will see a subject called Bayside if you read that you will come to a link called Brisbane Bayside Brits click on that and it will take you to another forum set up by people living there. It will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about this area of Brisbane.
Hope this helps
Kaye :)

Hi Jules

We to hope to be in Australia 2008 just finishing collecting info for TRA we were all set to go to Cleveland/Ormiston but when we were out there I really liked the Sunshine coast keep feeling that Maroochy may be a fantastic place to live particularly Mountain creek near Mooloolaba. Some really good schools and sports facilities there but so has Cleveland will have to seriously look at both places.

WE aim to be there about this time next year promised the kids they could do another football and swimming season so in no rush, but no more than that.

Are you planning to do a trip to Oz to look at places? Baysides a great place to start.

Take care
Kaye :)

We live in Cleveland

Hi there

Noticed your posts and me and my family live in Cleveland which is just down the road from Alex Hills. We have been to other places in the area and love cleveland as it is near the bay and each morning you can get up and take exercise on the beach!!! This area is well worth a look at as is thornlands as there is a mixture of young and old houses.

Also there are quite a few british here. We only got here in November but love it. Let me know if you need any more info
