debsclan is on a distinguished road
Hi my name is Debbie and i currently live in Perth and have done all my life -I'm no pom but found this site because i want to move states and i have had a great time browsing all your comments so far!! I hardly got to bed last night i was so interested in reading what everyone had to say!!
Anyway what i want to tell everyone from 'over there' is if your in the building trade dont stress. Australia is DESPERATE for all trades and you can get work any where in any town yesterday. Most of the reason the tradesmen dont show when you want a job done is because they have so much damn work they dont NEED to come and do your job !! Building industry is booming here. Good luck

Cairns is starting to expand new houses going up new towns being created, new hotels etc apparently there is loads of work if you can handle the heat of course.

Cairns

Cairns, 100%, the property boom is massive up here.....We arrived from the UK in April. My husband is a floor layer and was in massive demand. A builder would not know where to start, there is so much work it is not even funny.......Do not be put off by the climent it is fantastic....If I have to put up with four months of rain for 9 months of this I will never be complaining......It is a beautifl place, paradise and the people are out of this world.....If you want to make money get up here a.s.a.p.

1000's of Australians can not be wrong, 50% of migrants to Cairns are from South Australia and about 20% from Brisbane. It is much cheaper to live up here and the house prices are still reasonable, around 150,000.00 pounds for a four bed with en-suite, study etc.
