Hi everyone,

First time doing this kind of thing...

My husband has just had a firm job offer for a company in Emerald! Can anyone tell me about the place? I've been told it's pretty remote. Has anybody lived/worked there? Feeling excited and petrified at the same time. DIMIA paperwork going though at mo. Any info greatly appreciated.

Yeah Mate, she's pretty remote but like all outback towns, if you get into the way of it, you and your family could have a far, far better quality of life than those that live in the big cities.

I have never lived in Emerald, but passed through it on the way to Longreach on the Sprit of the Outback. (Train from Brisbane to Longreach)
