Obtaining jobs in Queensland

Hi to everyone.

I have been in Brisbane for just under 12 months now and despite a very successful sales and marketing background in pharmaceutical wholesaling, I have been unable to land a job.

Anybody have any suggestions/contacts as I have registered with 12 agencies, contacted the three main wholesalers and applied for around 50 jobs!

What has been your experience? It would be great to hear some views from fellow poms!

I only want to live in Brisbane as its the best city in Australia in my opinion.

From what I have read, many people have problems getting a position at the "same level" as they had in the UK. Many employers are reluctant to take a chance with someone that has no "local experience".

However, by taking a lower position to begin with, they are often able to work up again reasonably quickly.

Obviously this does not apply to everyone, but can help.
