What about Queensland?

Hello. I'm having a great time finding out info from this forum - I only joined today but I can see myself checking in regularly.
I finally sent off my residency application to Adelaide a couple of weeks ago after months of collecting paperwork, but I have been told that it may take six months before any processing action is taken. Please tell me it doesn't really take that long!
I was in Queensland at Easter and visited north of Brisbane and liked the look of the Scarborough and Redcliffe area, although Narangba looked cheaper and was nearer to the Bruce Highway so an easy commute to Brisbane if needed.
I am a primary teacher and may have to supply until I get something more permenent so I want to have good access to loads of places (not that I'm great with a map mind you!)
Let me know about any of the above ramblings and I'd be most grateful.

Brisbane is a great choice.

Personally for convenience, crime rate etc I would be giving all of the above areas a miss (keep them for w/end visits), and be looking at the northside suburbs of Paddington, Milton, Clayfield, Ascot, Newstead or Hamilton.

Hello to all Australians

I have been offered a position in a Hospital in Southport Queensland. I am just wishing to enquire whether anyone knows of commutable rural areas near this suburb which would be good for kids?

Thanks for any assistance offered
Sharon
