Cant apeak for perth as im in brissy ,but my hubby is a diesel mechanic and when we arrived he just walked into garages and sold himself ,,it worked and he ended up with about 5 job offers so he just picked what felt right for him.If you want to earn big bucks though youd be better looking into the mines as thats where the money is ,,hope this helps a bit and congratulations on the tra ,,i know how hard it was ,,im sure i could repair a common rail system now instead of hubby ,lol!!!

Depends on what sort of lifesytle you and yoru husband want to live.
In some parts of WA, diesel mechanics are getting paid upto $1500 a day for work in mining towns. There is absolutely nothing out there. Most people will fly in and out on a week to week basis and leave the wives and kids back in the city or other areas.
Alternativly you can look at larger twons such as Kalgoorlie, Port Headland, South Headland.
