CornishSoph
Hi guys, we have recently made the road trip from Sydney to Perth with 4 young kids. Thought this would be a useful place to mention that I blogged about the experience: If any of you guys are thinking about making the trip, I am happy to answer any questions Edited July 20, 2015 by The Pom Queen forum rules

JockinTas
We did it the other way round - Perth to Sydney but only with one child. Fabulous time - stopped off at loads of places. Spent 6 weeks on that road trip. Tell us more about your trip!

steely
4000kms? Amazing. What a huge country Australia is. It seems maps dont always do it justice. Driving 4000kms from Manchester would place me in Moscow - almost the entire length of Europe!
jumpingjellybean
Thought about doing this. Either that or load the car on the train and go by rail.

JockinTas
I love train travel. Would like to go to Darwin on the Ghan one of those days. I've been on the Indian Pacific from Sydney to Perth.

MARYROSE02
Six years ago, I got as far as Port Pirie, at which point, I turned back east, but my hire car rules (Bayswater aka 'No Birds") forbade going any further west. I think I spent two weeks meandering along the Princes Highway from Sydney to get to there, then another week or so via Broken Hill and Bourke into southern Queensland, then back to Sydney. That's a pretty good road trip! Time for a new car now, huh?
