I have managed 9...

I wonder if anyone has managed the 100, come on Pommy Paul surely you must nearly be there, if not BobJ may be able to give you a run for your money.

Beechworth and Rutherglen were stunning. We were there last Autumn with all the leaves turning red, gold, orange it was beautiful.

Berry has a quaint charm very Victorian.

Pokolbin is like sitting in the South of France surrounded by vineyards and olive trees with the heady smell of roses that are planted in all the vineyards.

A little surprised to see Katherine and Mataranka on the list.If you have been to either you will understand why.

Yes I didn't like Katherine and felt quite nervous passing through, especially when one of the boys needed to use the public toilets. I liked the camp site we stopped in at Mataranka and the pools, not a lot more going for it though.

I can count 72 that I've been to Kate.

Though I was mainly 'travelling' at the time so maybe not best qualified to give a fair picture, but the one that stands out (amongst many) is Coral Bay back in the late seventies.:notworthy::notworthy:

Cheers Tony.

I can cross off about 55. I'd take issue with Derby being in there. It was an utter 'hole' - smashed windows and boarded up houses. We drove in and drove straight out!

I lve in one of the towns listed and work part time in another. From the coalface,so to speak,I can confidently say this list is based on a tourism perspective. Our town is small, population of approx 1000 and the one I work in is about double that.We are in the middle of 11 national parks, waterfalls everywhere, trout fishing, camping and caravaning are popular in the area. The town relies heavily on tourism and agriculture for its survival. For a holiday it is beautiful.

To live here is a different reality.Services are pretty well catered for, which is good, but shopping is about 40% more than on the coast 70km away.Cafes close at approx 3pm,restaurants,pubs and club close at 8.30-9pm.Very little happens here for kids or teens which has resulted in a big drug problem amongst teens.Work is scarce ,as is housing, wages are low.

We love it here for the short term because the people are really welcoming and we have work, friends etc...But,to make it on to such a list the criteria must have been tourism based.
