Darwin - Recommendations Anyone?

Hi, I'm off to Darwin in September to validate my visa and wondered if anyone had been or lives there now that could recommend things to do, any good restaurants or bars or something.
I've found the usual tours like Katherine, Lichfield and Kakudu - be nice if there was something a bit different to do.

There's a fantastic all you can eat seafood resturant in the harbour area of Darwin, even includes the ice cream. Ask your hotel they should know about it.
Litchfield, Kakadu & Katherine it pretty much it for the Darwin area but there's loads to see there.
