Unhappy How can we get to OZ?????

Hi don't seem to have had any feedback on my message yesterday!!Should have perhaps explained my situation in more detail. My partner and I want to move to Oz for a better lifestyle for ourselves and our two lovely girls. We have our own business in the UK at the mo and have had it for 14 years!(fish&chip shop)My parents moved to Spain about three years ago to live out their dream and we want to do the same but a bit further afield!Unfortunatley all our years of running our own business seem to count for nothing in terms of qualifying for a visa!!We are willing to retrain in other skills to get our points .Lee,my partner would like to train either in the building or electrcity trade and myself perhaps teaching assistant,to fit in with girls term time.I am 38 and Lee 36.How much experience would we need once qualified?
Another visa we have seen is a subclass 495-Skilled Independaent Regional-has anyone any experience of this?or any advice please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have friends in Mount Eliza who emigrated last Sept and we are all desperate for answers so we can join them!

Hiya, Ok to get more responses maybe you should put the title of your thread something like 'How do i get to Oz' because the title says Mandy people may think that you are trying to trace someone called Mandy or something like that and not read your thread.

Sorry just trying to help you get as much info as possible as you could have alot of replies if lots of people read your thread.

If I were you I would also telephone some migration agents as they do give some free advice and maybe they can point you in the right direction. You could go I think on a business visa but that could be costly to you , or maybe a student visa but again could be costly. Seriously consider speaking with an agent especially if your circumstances are not straight forward i.e. being on the skilled list.

Good luck & Regards

Hi Mandy

We were in the same sort of situation, and have chosen to go the study route I will be starting Sunshine Coast TAFE in July on the hairdressing course as it is on the skills list. So when my course is finished and I am qualified I will be able to apply for a permanent residence as you have to complete a set amount of hours work experience throughout the course which in turn gives me experience.

If your OH is interested in working in the building trade I know that brick laying is also the same and I think plasters i.e need to get experience as part of the course.

I hope this helps you, if you have any questions feel free to send me a pm.

Mandy
