Help, advice and assistance please!

Hi all,
I am considering a move to OZ with my family (me 45, OH 47, two kids 8 & 10), as There is a severe lack of work for my skillset over here!

I'm in the process of applying for a job with IBM (in Barton), which will either be contract (sponsored by the agency) or permenant (sponsored by Freespirit for 12.5% of salary)

I'd rather have the security of a permenant role, as it's a big move for what might only be a 12 month contract, but I'm considering both. Any suggestions?

From what I can see, Canberra is a pretty expensive place to live (house price wise). (Admittedly, I'm comparing it to Perth, as I'm also persuing a role there.) I guess this is because it's the capital? Are there cheaper suburbs that are within a decent commuting distance?

Should I knock Canberra on the head and concentrate on Perth?
Are Freespirit having a laugh?

Any comments or suggestions welcome!
Thanks

Hi
have you tired looking at ....

Real Estate, Property, Land and Homes for Sale, lease and rent - realestate.com.au

you will be able to look at different suburbs and compare prices etc... you can also get a free suburb report from this site as well (usually found on page where house you are looking at is on)... down the side under the adverts ... just click on the link.

sorry can't be of any further help

If you don't want to live in canberra but a little bit further out try Queanbeyan or bungendore (lovely village feel) If you don't mind a bit more of a commute Yass is nice . Look at this gives areas to perhaps avoid ?
