Medicals

Just had second part of medicals today. Takes about 10 days for blood test results then it should all be forwarded to the LCU Sydney. Darren oh has a lazy left eye , Doc says nothing to worry about just a routine eye test and results sent to Doc.

Were now going a day earlier 10th june our wedding anniversary so hopefully all will go ok...we are sending our police checks off on monday too...very exciting!.just need this bloody case officer now........think we may be in a for a long wait! Have you put your house up yet?
Sometimes i cant really believe this is all happening now....how exciting!!! everyone keeps asking about a leaving party....i get fed up with saying i dont know when were going yet.............

Hi Zoe,

Happy Anniversary for 10th June

They only do a quick eye test. Look at a couple of lines of letters with one eye covered at a time. House still not up for sale, Darren wants to wait until meds are ok. House market slow 3 houses in our area have been up for months.

Hi Zoe,

How did your medicals go? Ours have now been sent to Sydney and bloods and everything ok. Did you have a nice anniversary?

Hi all!
We moved to Canberra in September 07 and LOVE IT!!!

We live in Gungahlin and have 3 kids - 12,16 & 17 all attending the same school. They have settled better than we could have thought - and soooo fast! I have a good job and so does hubby, but I have a word of advice. Most of the vacancies for hjobs are with Government - I cannot work for the Government as a pre requesite is that you're an Aussie Citizen - it's something to bare in mind when you're job hunting.

I hope all goes well with you all - there are lots of picutres of canberra and the sites on liveincanberra websites and www.canberraeguide.com/

Best of luck to all!!!

Angie

Angie is right about the job front but it is not impossible. DH is a public servant and has been given a condition of employment to become a citizen when he is eligible. His agency also had to prove that no citizen could do the job. I start (getting nervous) my first IT contract role with the government in a week. We are both permanent residents.

Good luck...

Hi Angie,

Thanks for the advice I am really pleased to hear that you are all loving it and has lifted my spirits as I do have moments where I think what the hell am I doing. Hopefully we haven't much longer to wait now for visa coming through.
