Anyone lived in Alice Springs? I'm moving there...

Hi everyone. I am moving to Alice Springs in 5 weeks to work for a year as a medic in the hospital there. It will be a great career experience, but I've been living in London for the last year or so, and of course expecting some serious differences! I have heard a mixture of reports, but would be glad to hear of any experiences, tips or general comments about my planned adventure which at the moment seems far from real! It's going to be wierd sitting on the plane leaving the UK, but mainly exciting...

i am moving to alice springs on july 5th with my husband and 4 daughters i have a job as a hairdresser everone keeps saying i am mad too. but i didnt want to move to a big city i wanted to live in a community and i believe alice has that.

alice is a great place to live i'v been here 10 years.
come with an open mind and open eyes
you'll get plenty of work at the hospital
