Accomindation in Palmerston

Recommended Posts

We have been accepted for a 489 and are just awaiting our security and health checks.

Today we have been to the travel agents for accomindation places, but they have nothing in the Palmerston area, there more the top hotels, motels and apartments on there systems as people go for holidays.

The question we have is there any holiday homes places either hotels, appartments motels or holiday homes within this area (Palmerston). As this will be the area we will be looking to move to.

One more ore thing also double checked flights with the holiday shops and Internet prices. Just also wondered if any one knows of any where else to check ?

Hi! Palmerston is mainly a residential area hence the lack of holiday style accomodation compared to Darwin city.

There is 1 hotel there, the Quest, which is fairly newish and does apartments as well as hotel rooms.

You could also try the BP palms Freespirit resort. It's in Pinelands on the Stuart highway just a 5 min drive from Palmy. Nice resort style accomodation with family villas.

Even if you stay in Darwin, it's not that difficult to drive round - not a big city like down south.

Good luck with it and congratulations on your visa

is there a more cost effective way of somewhere to stay whilst we have a look around ? Rather than paying over the odds at the top hotels

You could try campsites as they do cabins which are probably cheaper. Although they get quite booked up during the dry season.

Darwin accomodation is notoriously expensive. We did stay at the City Gardens apartments which was nice and reasonable by Darwin standards although this is in the city. Again, during peak season, availability can be tight with visitors and a lot of mine workers use holiday accomodation too.
