From a MH point of view in WA it's not as well resourced as it was in the UK, where there were Home Treatment, Crisis, Early Interventions, Assertive Outreach teams becoming the norm - here they're still few and far between and not every service will have them. A lot of things that would normally be done 'in house' are sent to private sector ..... so it is different.
Another difference is that with relevent experience (to enable you to be nominated) and by doing a short course, any clinician can become 'authorised' to form a patient to a hospital for 24 hours to see a psychiatrist (like sectioning).
