Hang in there, it's worth it!!!!
First a very big THANKS to everyone who wished us well on the "we've sold our house thread". I just wanted to say all the excitement that we felt on getting our visas has return bigtime now. I'd have to admit that although we never doubted our desire to go, over the last 18 months since we got our visas the stress at waiting to go did drain our enthusiasm. We left it a year to go for a reason, which bit us in the ass in the end. And as many of you may have had to do we underwent the strain and cost of validating before going, then bang the house selling nightmare. We also lost 3 out of the kids who were going on the way, although there is a very strong chance they will follow. From being in a positon of taking a financial springboard we've got very little to take. Feeling like our dream was becoming an eternal nightmare was high in our thoughts.
We're a bit scared but we may have felt that anyway and i know the day we go will be hard but we're back up to excitement level 1 again, so if anyone can relate to that "Hang in".
I'd also like to praise the internet, yes it has many evils but how much harder would it be going without the research, insight and communication it has given to going.
And of course without any family or friends there, PIO has given us friends here and there that we will without a doubt meet up with. We can't wait!!!

All the best for your very exciting future which is now insight!!! We received our visa's on the 5th of september and just can't sell our house so can imagine what you went through!!! We do have buyers however but just can't sell their hpouse, fell in love with our house on new years eve 07, put in an offer of the full asking price.....since then they have dropped £100,000 (in london) as their estate agent advised them if they want to sell this side of christmas (we,ve dropped £35,000) otherwise they wil have to wait till 2010 for the correct value of their property!!!
Been a rocky road as if we sell now we will only have £50,000 to go with including flights etc!!
But back to you all the best for your exciting & within reach future!!
Kev & Lisa xx

Hi,
We hope to fly end of Nov, BUT we've not exhanged yet (bout 3 weeks), then book the shipping. I'm trying to cap my excitement till the exchange cos we'd be devastated if it fell through, but we have a reserve buyer and thing feels good. (really feel we've given it away, Nicki was in tears when we agreed she said that she felt like we'd had our home stripped bare and pillaged from us, unfortunately thats the market!)
We couldn't put our dream on hold any longer. All we have here is a slow soul sapping nightmare.
