I'm in Kuala Lumpur (on my way to Melbourne)!

The flight here was pretty long; it feels like ages since I left the U.K., but I'm not too tired. My connection to Melbourne is in 2 and a quarter hours and I arrive at 7 a.m. tomorrow morning

It was really difficult to sort all my stuff out in time; I should have got going much earlier than I did. It's nice to get rid of most of it though, although my suitcase weighs a tonne! (it was 10kg over the limit, but the nice lady at Heathrow let it through).

Anyway, can't wait to arrive and will keep you all posted with how I get on - I'm excited

I arrived in Melbourne at 7 yesterday morning, and spent a lovely day by the beach watching some surfers - it's hot and sunny here already!

After a long sleep yesterday I think/hope I'm over the jetlag. I'm meeting a friend from home in town at 5:30 today when we're going for a meal and a couple of drinks, so am looking forward to that.

Otherwise I'm just exploring before starting work next week. Everything is happening so quickly, but it's great to be out here.
