Update on house selling (NOT)
Well the people who made an offer on our house came back with thier absolute final offer, they have sorted out thier finance and they cannot go above £175,000
Thier offer of 165,000 was rejected and they were told we would consider offers over 180,000
At 190,000 we are at least 10k below similar houses in our area
Told the EA that we would rather rent it out than sell it for less than 180,00
so it is up to them, they have not come back today - and I don't care!
feeling quite calm about it, I had resigned myself to renting out so if this does not happen then so be it
Karen

Reason: spelling
House now at £365K after starting at £375K for 6 weeks with no viewings.
Minimum I will take is £335K, definitely not renting after last time so it's a sale or allow my visa to lapse. I've got until mid Feb so still plenty of time yet.
we got messed around on ours too, I dont think its a good thing too let them know that your emigrating as they know how desperate you are to sell...........hang in there & dont give it away, if its worth it it will sell eventually....think of all the money you need, its not cheap here in OZ anymore, you will only regret it in time.
My guess is they want the house you dont look at a house you cant afford! Stick to your guns

I have not even got the house on the market yet, we did for a short while last year but decided not to sell for various reasons (bad mistake!) but the stress of trying to keep the house clean when you have kids and work full time. I was getting up an hour earlier in the morning so I could run around the house cleaning up before getting the kids up for school and myself ready for work, then half the time veiwers didnt turn up!
I am really not looking forward to this bit!I am going to wait until we see if we have passed the TRA then get it back on the market. Best of luck to all of you in the same situation lets all get together and a group virtual hug!!!!!

Hi guys, I am thinking many of you might be in denial.
the housing market in the Uk is in deep ****, as is the whole economy.
By the time you decide you can drop that extra 10K or so and do drop you may find your house is now another 10 or 20K down and you will again be chasing the market down.
If it was me and you have an offer that allows you to get moving go for it.
In 2 years time your house might be down 50%.\Good luck to you all.
If you are interested have a look at www.housepricecrash.co.uk

..
Understand what your saying Ken, but if you cannot afford to take the drop then you cannot afford to do it. You cant say 'oh well lets give the house away, it wont pay of the mortgage but what the heck' can you? Come on you have to have some respect for money and yourself.
Kazze hun, you hang on in there girl and as you say rent , thats what alot of us will be doing as alot of people cant get mortgages to buy these days anyway so renting will be the thing to do.
