Hi all
I only park if I have a free space on all sides! Hubby says I am categorically NOT to try and get into any tight spaces. This edict came after I banged the side of our car on a supermarket trolly bay-fancy putting that next to my car eh!!

OK, I must have been here too long, so what is the "correct" way to park?

All depends -on the street: sometimes you parallel park in the direction of the traffic, sometimes you angle park 45 degrees front in, sometimes you park front in straight at 90degrees, in some bush towns you angle park 45degrees in reverse - so front out - and very rarely you reverse in straight ie 90 degrees.

In the shopping malls it is first in best dressed and if you dont front in then you are likely to lose the spot. Lazy parking is when you drive across a vacant spot into the aisle in front so it looks as if you have reversed into the front aisle and are ready to drive out. Just look around you to see what the rest of the world has done and you shouldnt go far wrong.

I have found unless you reverse in and ''nudge'' your way back out ,you can be sat there all day cause no-one lets you out over here, lol, unless they are another pom!lol

According to section 239 of the UK Highway Code this is also prohibited in the UK.

I was informed by an aussie work colleague the other day that the Aussie Flag has an emu and kangaroo on it because they are the only animals that cannot walk backwards. After he stopped thumping his chest i told him this joke.

An Englishman wanted to become an Irishman, so he visited a doctor to find out how to go about this. "Well" said the doctor, "this is a very delicate operation and there is a lot that can go wrong. I will have to remove half your brain". "That's OK" said the Englishman. "I've always wanted to be Irish and I'm prepared to take the risk".

The operation went ahead but the Englishman woke to find a look of horror on the face of the doctor. "I'm so terribly sorry!!" the doctor said. "Instead of removing half the brain, I've taken the whole brain out". The patient replied, "No worries, mate!!"
