Wages for artisans are generally lower in Oz than the UK, that's just a fact of life unfortuatally..
Maybe we just move in different circles but the younger crowd over here want the newest phones computer, ipods, etc just like kids back in the UK..the older folk I now have the latest gadgets and nearly all strive to have a bigger fraster car or boat which I never witnessed in the UK...

What's a record? just saying how I see it....when people say "we are going for a more relaxed lifestyle and to eat and be healthier" it just makes me wonder

It is a hard life anywhere in the world if you have to work, you can eat healty and be healty in any Country you choice to live ....Oz will not suddenly make you fitter or eat better Oz loves fast food and the notion people get that Australians are healthier or fitter than Brits will soon be turned when you get here.

What was your reason for going to Australia and what is your reason for staying?

look...people will love it or hate it....but the notion that it is a more relaxed and healthier lifestyle is daft, people can be relaxed and healthy anywhere in the world...I am just saying that peopel should not come out thinking the sun is always shining and the barbie is always on the go...it is much the same as the UK except people do not go out so muchover here as it gets dark early and they have work in the morning.
