Not been on for a couple of days and it seems everybody has gone off their heads. Negative/positive/negative/positive.
I remember the good ol' days when you could come on here and find good informative information, also negative info, but above all you could have a light hearted laugh on the way. What's gone wrong.
Yours sincerely

I agree totally that's why I put a thread to stop all this stupid nonsense and mud slinging but yet again that's what it turned into ooops!!! Didn't want to ban people's opinions just wanted to stop all the rowing and back biting going on - its crazy and so unhelpful to people who are making that big move down under or need support when they are over here.
Ditto Edster or should I say Birthday Boy!!!!! It sure aint the same as it used to be here..I'm all for negative threads as it does give a balanced view but it does get a bit tiresome sometimes..I do wonder why people continue to come here when they dislike Australia so much!! Still each to their own I guess.. It was good in the early days and we all had such a giggle here...I am just glad I made some great friends in the beginning that have also remained good friends since moving to Australia... Shame really but I dont come here as much as I used to, yes I am now working full time but PIO just isnt the same as it used to be.. Jo x
Lets get back to the old days........................
What shall we start with?
Australia.....why we came and what we've achieved/gained/learnt since being here...whether bad or good (but no nasty comments please).
1 came here to have an adventure and try a different lifestyle
2 to escape the drudge of grey skies and cold winters and the awful summer the UK had last year
3 to meet new people and learn about another countries culture
4 to enjoy every day and take it for what it is and try to be happy at what I do
5 to chill out on weekends and see different areas of a country I've never been to before and boy it was worth every minute of the stress of getting here and the stress whislt liviing here
I think some people are in danger of taking the forum much too seriously and need to rediscover a sense of proportion and a sense of humour instead.
Never mind, though! Go and have fun with your boat instead. One of the main reasons why I LOVE sailing (apart from the fact that I love the sheer sport) is that when I am on a boat away from dry land, the boat's needs have to come first, last & always. If someone ashore is in strife but it would take me 10 hours or more to get to a land line phone and a 'puter to do something about it, somebody else will just have to deal with the problem in my absence. Legal clients especially scream the place down in an initial moment of crisis, but they's tough little b****** with an amazing ability to survive, I've alsways observed!
I have started a funny thread at Eddie's request in the Chewing the Fat (or whatever it's called) section. Let's see if we can entertain ourselves for a bit while the bickering continues!

Wouldn't class myself as PIO oldie as don't post as much as I should - always check in though!! I do remember Vicar of Dibley doing a morning sermon to everyone - used to really laugh at that!! lots more banter / good fun used to go on! Seems the forum has really grown - which is a good thing. I have met some really lovely friends through PIO! you know who you are!!

ok just to help lighten the mood with fizz's new thread .
The guys and girls thread can be found by going into news, gossip and chat, scrolling back many, many pages and i'm sure you'll find it.
It has nothing to do whatsoever with moving to oz, just purely for people to have some light hearted fun along with process.
