Do Negitve Threads Have a Place on PIO

OK, If more tha 1/3 of members of PIO oppose negative threads i will delete my profile here and go else where.

I still believe that all this can be resolved with a separate forum for Negative Posts

I came to Oz knowing nothing about the place only that it was a place oh always wanted to go to. I think that worked ok for me as I just got on with it and accepted that this is how it is here and went with the flow.
If I had had access to something like this site and only read positive posts I would have been totaly dissilusioned (sorry cant spell that lol).
I'ts good to hear the negatives as you learn a bit more about Oz but can then form your own opinion when you get here.
Dont know about negatives being in another forum cause then you may have to have different sections for different negative topics! I think i'ts ok the way it is, people can choose to read them. The only thing is some people seem to find negatives over trivial things.

I think there is a difference between negativity and realism. If people shy away from realism then they are going to be in trouble. If they interpret that as negativity then that is really their problem.

Life is not all positive, there are negatives and its how poeple find things out. If you dont like negative posts dont read them!

But remember to be real as life is real and the clock is ticking with no reverse!

I would really like to see them stay in this forum as so far I have come across so many things to investigate further that I really hadn't thought about.

What I would prefer is that when a negative situation crops up I would like to see a balanced view on the subject with posters being able to agree or disagree in a constructive manner rather than the slanging match. I want to learn not argue.

I am still trying to decide whether to go 457 or study route and do I go Queensland or South Australia. So please tell me the good and the bad so when I make my decision I make it an informed one.

Its good to know the negatives as well as the positives ,its all infomation at the end of the day.What some people object to is the negative posters putting downers on the positive threads or getting aresy about it.Theres no need for you to go anywere Aldo,,

I haven't added to the poll myself as I haven't read the negative post that is going around as :

1) we have our visa now and feel that we are on our way and want to make our own opinion of the place and not be led by other's opinions. I personally come on here to have a laugh which has eased the frustration and worry over the visa and now the never ending list of to do's and,

2) by the sounds of it the thread is all a load of arguing about who is right and who is wrong so not interested thanks. I very selfishly take a lot from this site (every now and then try to give my own advice back and hopefully will be able to more when I get there and can help others wanting to find out info) and at different stages along our route have learnt alsorts of invaluable information.

To me this fantastic site is all about finding out FACTS which concern me about the various things involved with emigrating, and being able to make some brilliant friends along the way has been a huge bonus.

My personal feeling is whoever posts these threads, and infact all threads, needs to think that they will be read by potentially hundreds of very different, individual people from different parts of the UK and the world and there is no way that the posts and threads wil be interpreted in the same way by everybody or infact by the author. Everybody needs to think carefully about what they are posting and if they are posting to get up somebodys nose or be malicious then they are probably going to sound very negative, BUT if they are trying to post to help people and give FACTS AND INFORMATION then they are probably going to sound genuine and realistic. I don't think posts have to be negative OR positive but more likely to be useful OR hurtful and damaging......... and therefore useless!

Just my waffle really but if I look to have rose tinted specs on then leave me be cos they were on offer from specsavers

Life is not a bed of roses not matter where you go in the world...If I am going on holiday I want as much information as I can get by reading books like the "the real holiday guide" which gives real veiws of the places people have visited warts and all....I want to hear the negatives and positives about a place before I make my mind up...no one in their right mind would take any notice of a holiday firms brochure ...I want to hear from people who have been there....done it...got the T shirt and can tell you what you don't now.....the truth.

I think it's important to know how life in Aus really is, so voted yes, I think there already is a forum for negatives for Aus (isn't it called BEP?). I do however, think that some of the things people post are designed to be inflammatory which isn't helpful to this site or to it's users. I feel constructive threads about life in aus - good or bad give a balanced view, some of the 'negatives' aren't unique to Australia
