Thanks to Nickywes' inspirational idea, we have now sold to a couple that were desperate to buy our house but couldn't sell their smaller 3-bed. So we part-exchanged. We will now have a much smaller mortgage on a perfect rental property so can head to Oz without the worry of a 'white elephant' of a house back here; with the added bonus of retaining a rental investment property in the UK.
I suppose that this is straight forward anyone with a modicum of business acumen, can't believe we didn't think of this sooner.
Hi there - That is fantastic news, really pleased I was of some help. We would definitely do it if the opportunity arose. Good luck in your new life.

HI,
We are in Maidstone, Kent. We had a buyer, wanted a quick turn around because their previous house had fallen through. We thought 'perfect'. Then just as things start rolling, the one buying their house suddenly pulls out...... we have no reason as yet. Our buyer still wants our house but with no one buying theirs we are back to square one. The dreaded viewings , I have given the keys to the agent as the non arrivals etc were getting to me.
Fingers crossed it'll all come together soon - for everyone.
Lisa
:-( feeling fed up.
xx

Will keep fingers crossed for you. We had the same, our sons car was broken into outside our house on the Friday and had a viewing on the Sat. The forensic people turned up at the same time as viewers were due and our EA answered the door to them. I had to ask them to leave as that would not have gone down too well would itLuckily they were a bit late so missed them.

We live in Orpington Kent and our house has been on since march. Like so many of you, we have had plenty of interest but no offers. We are having to move to Woodbridge in Suffolk for a year now ( that all happened two weeks after we had booked our one way tickets to Melbourne!) We have found a house to rent from the end of this month which OH will move into as he's already up there mon-fri. I'll move up witht the kids at the end of the term. We are now considering taking ours off the market and renting it, but still unsure as I'm concerned that property may still stagnate. We are going out next month to validate and will make a decision on our return.
Location: South derbyshire now and then hopefully Perth.

On the first viewing in one week we were offered the full asking price. You could have knocked me down own with a feather.
The buyers and their two kids are living with their parents as the former house they wanted fell through. We are still waiting to exchange contracts which should happen any day but I can't help but think at this time, it is too goo to be true! We have been told that things are taking much longer as the mortgage lenders that are left are overwhelmed with applications.
So we are cautiously optimistic!!
Lets all keep our fingers and toes crossed!

WE STILL HAVEN'T EXCHANGED CONTRACTS!!!!!!!!

OMG that is a nightmare. A friend of ours was the same he had his for sale for a couple of years, anyway in the end he asked someone else who sold their house quickly for some advise (sorry ile have to ask him what the advise was), but anyway then sold the house. His house was back up for sale a while ago (the people who bought it now selling it), and guess what??? It sold in a few weeks !!!! Why is it, he took so long???
I suppose its just waiting for that ONE person who wants it
Where is that person, is what I would like to know
