Morning - Our agent sent somebody round on Saturday who is selling a house at 370k and was looking to upsize (if that is the right phrase). Anyway, they did like ours but not sure and have not sold theirs so agent suggested if they wanted to go for ours, we buy theirs off them giving us a smaller house and enabling them to buy ours. Don't know what the logistics of all this would be but we would rent out a smaller house rather than this one so that we would have either a much smaller mortgage or possibly none depending on the offers etc.

I still would rather have no house here but it is worth a consideration and if it is feasible then we may well do it. EA looking into it for us if they are interested.

Sorry can't be of more help at the moment but will post again if it happens.

Nicky xx

Just a quickie - Our EA said that buyers are getting greedy and wanting more and more for their money so either waiting it out or going in with ridiculous offers. They know that houses aren't selling so are trying their luck. I would too if I was in their position, bad luck for all of us though.

Hi, we put our house on the market about 11 weeks ago. We have told the estate agents that we want to move down south. This is the truth but I have not told them just how far south!

On the first viewing in one week we were offered the full asking price. You could have knocked me down own with a feather.

The buyers and their two kids are living with their parents as the former house they wanted fell through. We are still waiting to exchange contracts which should happen any day but I can't help but think at this time, it is too goo to be true! We have been told that things are taking much longer as the mortgage lenders that are left are overwhelmed with applications.

So we are cautiously optimistic!!

Lets all keep our fingers and toes crossed!

Cool Part Ex

I too like the idea of part-exchanging; we know a couple who are desperate to buy our house but cannot sell their 3-bed. You really have got me thinking.

I think it is a really good idea to get some capital released and move over to Oz. Who knows how much longer this will go on.

This was our single biggest mistake, I'm sorry to say. If we'd been more realistic, I'm sure it probably would have sold by now. We went with the highest valuation of 230k and around the same time, other houses went up around us about 10k less. Not a lot you might think, and the other houses were not as high spec as ours, but they were all sold months ago before the market went bosoms up! We are now stuck with this great white elephant of a house. Been to see the EA today and they suggested a price of 199k to try and get rid, and even then she didn't hold out much hope!!! How I wish we could rewind a year. Our dream house has turned into a sodding nightmare.

I'm off now to pour a glass of wine and try to forget about it for half an hour.

Now let's see whats on tele - "Property Ladder" and "Grand Designs" Great!!!

Keep smiling,

T xx

Ours has been on the market for 11 weeks, 2 viewers no offers. We have reduced the price by 30k, but still nothing. It is now certainly a bargain compaired with others in the area, so hope that will make a difference.
