Well guys you are not going to believe this LOL Took my boys to Karate came back and the house around the corner have a 'For Sale' sign board up!! We know these people and they hadnt told us they were selling!! Anyway neighbour just knocks at our door and they are NOT MOVING and the agents have put the board on the wrong house

Their house is nothing like ours, OMG I now have NO FAITH

Ile have to call the agents tomorrow to tell them!!

Caz, Your tiles in your Kitchen look similar to ours - love your home no reason why it should not sell, alot of house for the money!!

We put our house on the market May 2007. Had several viewings and 1 sale that fell through in Dec, (despite buyers having full survey which showed no poblems and cost them £400 pounds ha ha ). Had another offer 2 days later at the same price and completed sale 1st April. Waiting in the CPV fiasco now. Will go on 12month tourist if we dont make it this year. People are still buying hang on in there peeps.

Good luck to everyone trying to sell! It's a total nightmare and with hindsight we would have put our house on the market a lot earlier then we did, and rent until we got our visa's.

We put ours on in August last year, plenty of timewaster viewings but no sale until March. That then fell through as our buyer was made redundant, our agents pulled out all the stops and 48 hours later we had sold again! Exchanged contracts today and complete next week. Have the removals in tomorrow and Friday, so all systems go.

I have my fingers crossed for everyone waiting to sell or get their visa's...i know just how stressful this process is. It better be worth it!

we put ours on at 249,950 in early feb, dropped to 245 mid march with one offer at 220 (wish we had taken it now)

dropped again to 239,950 and just droped again to 229,950 told by the agent to beat the market and put it on for 225 didnt listen, now there are about 10 at the same price, had about 15 views so far with just one offer, another viewing on fri and not letting them out the house with out begging them to buy it LOL, then seriously gona drop to the 225 to beat the market, go to oz and live happily ever after IN A BLOODY TENT

Our house has been on the market for 2 months, had 5 viewings but no joy. We dropped the price by 15K last week and it only generated one viewer (who hadnt even got their house on the market!!!!!!!)

Sooooooo frustrating!!

My house has been on the market since October 2006.

I'm on the second agent and it has been reduced twice. I moved out to Australia in November '07.
It has been redecorated thoughout. There's an extension, new carpets and wooden flooring. All my furniture was moved out in Feb '07 to be shipped (long story) and then on the advice of the second agent I refurnished which cost a bomb of course even with 'borrowed'item from relatives.. The estate agent who came to ta new photos said it looked like a show home.
I've had viewers sporadically and one offer earlier this year which fell through after a couple of days. I'm paying to keep it warm, lit to avoid burglars, council tax to keep the lamp post outside lit, buildings insurance in case it falls down, contents insurance in case the furniture disintegrates and permanently indebted to my sister for keeping an eye on it!

We put our house on the market July 07, found a buyer in 2 days. It was great until she dropped out 4 months later in Nov 07, having packed and sold unwanted stuff. The house went back on the market immediately.
Since then, not many viewings, we're in West Sussex on the coast. We've dropped the price by £20k to date and had a viewing Monday of this week, the first in 2 months - I think we've only had about 3 others this year in total too.
I'm sort of accepting that we're gonna be here for some time. We got our visa in Jan 08 and thinking its highly likely we'll be validating Sep 08.

Morning all

Just a bit of good news. Was watching the news this morning and the Bank of England said the worst is over mmmmm? The banks all need to start lending to keep the economy up, so it will be up to them what happens with the market now.

If we have not sold by August we will be renting ours out and leaving September. Don't want to wait around any longer for it possibly be reduced even further and make us more miserable. Have had 3 agents round who want to charge 10% full management fee. We really don't want to do it as we could do with the equity to get a really good start in Oz and also do not want the worry of still having the house here. We are also considering a part exchange with someone that wants our house but can't sell. It would be better leaving a smaller house to rent.

Nicky more info please on part exchanging !!!!!! that sounds like an option we could part ex for a smaller house rent it out and still go to oz......do you have any more details hun

ours has been on the market since Oct 07 sold it in march 08 but buyers pulled out on the day we were to exchange contracts (first time buyers) they wanted to 'watch the market'

had nothing for 4 weeks now.. we were thinking about dropping price again originally 119,950, then 114,950 accepted offer for 111,000 but this is a 3 bed semi front and back gardens detached garage 3rd bed bigger than all 3rd bedrooms on the market in our area.

we wanted to sell early and go into rented but we had to cancel that..the ONLY psitive we have is that we havent got visa yet so not in a madrush..but i REALLY feel for you guys that have!
