Where do you shop? The customer service in Oz shops is a million times better than in the UK!

Agree. I've bought a few things, packets of cooked ham included, and when I've been opening it noticed it was out of date and had to chuck it. The checkout conveyor belts need to be longer too, they are not long enough to get a full shop onto- good job they pack for you!

Oh Earslwood, you are such an unhappy puppy. We got our CO today. We are getting closer to Perth and so excited. Can't wait to find you and give you a big hug and a kiss to make you all happy again!

Just for the record, when the spotty face behind the checkout says "hi, and how are you doing today" they don't really care.
Its like when people come home from a holiday somewhere and tell you how lovely and friendly the people are when all they have met are service staff, ie. waiters, barman and other professional "friendly" folk or other holiday makers.
It's not just 'professional friendly people' who are a lot more friendly, as a whole Oz is a lot more friendly.
Training in customer services in Oz is far better than in the UK, people actually do genuinely want to help you sort out your problems etc. I've had nothing but good experiences with banks, utility companies, shops, estate agents etc in Oz.
The difference between the "hi, and how are you doing today" in the UK & Oz is that in the UK they would only say to sell you something or because they've been told they have to. In Oz they say it because they are friendly and it comes naturally, I've never known it to sound forced.
It's also because in Oz it's no so frowned upon that you work in retail. In the UK unless you are a manager you don't work in retail as a career only as a student, retired person or part time mother.
Where do you get the 'Lack of colour' from? You need to see more of Oz!
