Madeline Macann Programme on Foxtel

After watching the Panorama programme last night on Foxtel - The Mystery of Madeline Macann -
are they ever going to find her ?,
It is coming up for a year now since the poor girl went missing.
What is the latest update (i have searched on the internet but there seems to be so many stories & tales and not sure what can be believed - so i guessed you guys that are in the uk would be in the know a bit more, from the local papers etc & tv reports.

This reminds me so much of the little blonde boy Ben Needham that went missing from Kos in 1991 who was almost 2 at the time, so guess he could/would be about 19 now.

I can't begin to even comprehend how the parents & familes of these children can live their lives in limbo off the not knowing.

Hi Gizmo

I've been following this story on and off since it started because I do not believe the lurid allegations that have been made in the Press in the UK about the parents of young Madeleine.

The only fact I know recently is that the Parents have managed to get hefty compensation from Express Newspapers and others who admitted that they published stories that they cannot prove were true or even justified. The money has gone to the Trust to help fund the search for the child.

The trail of that poor little girl seems to have gone completely cold, however.

The Australian documentary might actually have better info than is available in the UK where the media are now running scared of the lawyers acting for Madeleine's parents.

Best wishes

Gill

any ideas if its being shown on normal tv here Giz so us paupers can watch!lol,, i agree there is so much on the net that you dont know what to believe,i feel sick thinking about what her parents must be going through and hopefully an anniversary appeal would jog peoples memorys again,,i hope so anyway. What ive never understood is why they didnt take the younger child who would ''forget'' things quicker than a more competant child who could talk etc,,like you Gill i dont think its anything to do her with parents the media got what they deserved!

Hi Gill & Cal
Thanks for your replies
This was a documentry from the bbc panorama which the bbc screened in November 07 in the uk - its not a aussie made doco - but i have just stumbled over the official site
Finding Madeleine
It was a panorama programme from the bbc so if you go to the panorama website and into archives of 2007 (nov) you should be able to watch it online,

What i cant understand is when Jane Tanner (the friend of the mccanns) she saw a man carrying a child away from where the mccanns holiday apartment was - if that was madeline why wasnt she moving or making a noise, the documentry said that Madeline was taken out through a shutter/window at the back of the apartment from her bed where she had been seen sound asleep before, if a child was woken and put through a window let alone be with a person they didnt know woudnt they scream cry make some sort of noise or move & wiggle to get away.

I think this is going to be one of those that no one will ever know
So very sad
