ASPC E-mail / skilled 136 visa

HI All

I'd be very grateful for some help please.

I've got a chum who lives in Adelaide. She & her Hubby went out there on a 457 visa.

At the end of September 2007 they submitted an application for a subclass 136 visa (probably non-MODL.)

They are still waiting for developments. She asked me so I sent a blank e-mail to the ASPC earlier.

Now - it is the most badly-drafted document I have ever seen in my life. Once obviously has to be a professional code-breaker to understand a word of it.

If I am reading the thing correctly, COs are only just beginning to start the end stages for people whose applications were received by the ASPC in March 2007???? Is this so???

If it is and I haven't completely mis-undertood the e-mail, it is no wonder Australia has a dire shortgage of skilled migrants if they can't get all of you there any quicker than this.

Can anybody tell me, please, whether I have understood the thing correctly?

Very many thanks

Gill

Hi Gill

If there application was lodged after 1 September then they would have gone in on a 175 as I believe that it was the 136's changed to. I thought that all applications received after 1 September were going through alot quicker then pre-September. If they are on a 175 and it was a paper based application they are getting CO's if lodged on 16 September and if they were online apps they are getting CO's if lodged from 1 November.

Hold on, just noticed that they would be an onshore application too. Oh blimey, now I'm confused. Any poss you could find out exactly what Visa it is they have applied for?

I apologise if I have got this wrong. However, you are correct in what you said about the email. It is a real shocker and although I read it every week it still takes me a couple of times to understand it.

Claire

Hi Claire

Lisa said it is a skilled 136 visa. They've got an agent in Adelaide, though.

When I got the gibberish from the ASPC I forwarded it to Lisa and suggested that she should ask her OH to see whether he can make head or tail of it.

But you're right. I think the Skilled 136 finished at the end of August for new applications, so I will ask Lisa to double check with their Agent (and their Agent can figure out how long it will take.)

We need Lisa to get PR because her Parents want to apply for a CPV. Ideally, we want Lisa's PR to be through by no later than mid-May so that her Parents' CPV application can be submitted in time to beat the fees increase on 1st July 2008.

I will obviously hvae to try to de-code that e-mail again because it is obvious from the responses to this thread that I have read the thing wrongly!

Cheers

Gill

I doubt you have read it wrongly, it really is just a load of gibberish!

I think that if they are onshore it could be one of the Skilled Independent Regional Visas (SIR). According to the email these have all be allocated CO's.

God, sorry Gill, I am probably confusing matters more. I would love to know when you do find out.

Claire
