Has anyone else experienced this ?

Our visa is due to be validated by 17 May although hubby wants to visit his family in South Africa first so we need to leave by mid April but for some reason I'm finding it hard to book the tickets.

Now I do know how to use the phone and credit card and I have reserved a flight however it's like I've got a block on me making the final booking. I suppose it makes everything final and once that happens the emotions will no doubt kick in. Up to now, I've managed to keep myself in check but with less than 8 weeks to go I really should just bloody get on with it.

Some may say that I am purposefully trying to jeopardise the goal that we've strived for the last couple of years however I think its just that reality is finally setting in and I'm anxious.

Note to self: will definitely book and pay for tickets by end of Monday.

You can buy flight tickets on line on the day of the flight if you want to as long as you go direct to the airline so that e-tickets can be e-mailed to you. For that matter you can buy seats just by walking going to the various airline Information Desks at the airports.

However, do NOT be tempted to try to reach Oz after the Initial Entry date in the Grant letter. They can be waived on compelling and compassionate grounds but nervousness is not one of those!

This won't seem nearly so bad once the plane is in the air and you can relax with a pre-meal aperitif and let somebody else wait on you hand & foot for a few hours, chooks. The build up is nearly always worse than the actual execution of Plan A.

Chin up. You're a survivor so you will be OK.

It seems easier to let thing s roll on in the same old way but you will really kick your self if you let this slip away

I've gone and done it! Not by own deadline though but never mind that the fact is that we are booked to leave 20 March. Only now is the adrenalin started to pump - I hadn't realised it was less than 7 weeks to go.

Looks like I'm going to be a busy bee the next few weeks.
