hello guys
well here we are 4 weeks into our new lives. what can we tell you?
Well as you may well have read from an earlier post we stayed in Jimboomba for the first 2 weeks which is on the Gold Coast.
After this we have been in Caloundra other than a short trip up north to Boyne Island to stay with some friends.
So far, in 4 weeks we have been here, we've had a great time.
School
We have enrolled Chelsea into school and she starts on Monday at Caloundra High School. Have also looked into nurseries for Ben, and probably will start in the next couple of weeks for just a day.
We are at the moment staying in a holiday apartment but hoping to find a more permanent rental soon (for 6 months). We are right on the beach, (kings Beach) which is fabulous, we can see the sea from our balcony.
Work
To start with, sorry to Mr Olgit, i have not at the moment been able to find out about licences you need in nsw.
I have had 3 job interviews so far and have been offered all 3 jobs.
The jobs i have gone for so far have been kitchen fitting jobs, and renovations. I am starting on Monday also, for a firm, but heres the downside $25 an hour, working 7-3.30 mon-thur and 7-1 on a friday, so will have a great long weekend.
House prices
All i can say is that when we were here last march the prices were about $80,000 cheaper. Cost of living cant say theres much difference. Definitely a better family life, so much to do and time to appreciate it. Everyone we have meet has been very helpful, the only moan is they can't drive to save their lives.
Could go on and on but will stop for now and hope to be back on line asap to tell you more.
Cheers for now
Eddie and Tina, Chelsea and BEn
ps
atnav when going for a seven hour drive ,dont rely on it. We did and ended up in the outbacks. The road stopped and we were driving on rough tracks for hours. Also Dan, KP, you should have been here to watch jo walk through a closed door.HA HA HA
