Criminal records

Hi to u all!!!!!!

I have got a criminal record dating back to 1991 (assault) i was fined £80 it has never stopped me since getting jobs in the uk,even thou it has always come back on my CRB checks, at present i am a staff nurse in the NHS, but im scared it may stop me getting into oz.
Can anyone tell me if this will be the case??????

so long as you put it on the application form it won't stop you

Yup dont try and hide it because they will find it and you would be in more trouble for being dishonest.

Put it on your application and also you will have to tell imigration on your landing card when you arrive.

Good luck but as the others say ,you should be fine many folks on here have asked similar questions and none (as i know) have been refused a visa,i think it has to be a pretty bad record for that!

OH has a record - obstructing police went to court fined £10 this was 23 years ago. He admitted it on form and got visa no probs. He has also worked in NHS for last 23 years and has never stopped him getting jobs.

Yep - admit to it ('cos it will come back on your police check), it won't stop you getting your visa

Definately put it on your application and your landing card. OH has record for a fight many years ago but we did a statement saying what happened and how sorry he was blah blah. We were stopped at immigration and just said it was a fight etc. all ok as we are here now! good luck
