My Hubbie Marc is an engineer (Fitter) and we have heard there are plenty of jobs and also it looks quite arty and cultural. With plenty of bars, restaurants etc...
Would be brilliant to get some info on the place if you have ever been or are thinking of going!
We are also considering going to Newcastle too. Also we have just sent off our big application and hope to go out there as soon as we can get the OK.
Just wondering what you have found out so far? I am main applicant - teacher. We like the idea of Newc having what seems like a bit of everything, cinemas, beach, bowling, bars, restaurants, art galleries etc. Have looked at house prices, which also seem quite reasonable too!

We live in NE in Sedgefield, just near Durham. I am main applicant - teacher, and taking my OH, Chris, with me. Can't wait to start the adventure, but trying not to get too carried away as only just sent big form off so have a while to wait yet.
KNow how you feel about family, as I am very close to my lot and wish they could just come with me! Hopefully they will all come and visit often.

We have been living in Australia for over 20 years and Newcastle is a really nice place easy reach to the beaches, Sydney if you want to go for a trip. There are mines near New Castle that could provide work. I like this area a lot and would be a good choice in imo. Good Luck with your visa !
My OH is the main applicant (Mechanic), we love Newcastle (we also live near Newcastle, England!) We have a good mate who lives at St Marks Point, Belmont - 250yards from lake macquerie and 250yards from the ocean and the golf course! absolute heaven. My hubby also had the benefit of spending a few days in hosp in Newcastle so we have also sampled their healthcare! I didnt fancy living too near to sydney but at least its not too far away, i'm not a city girl at heart but Newcastle is big enough (if you know what i mean) plus its not far from the likes of Nelsons bay et al which are amazing and the hunter valley.
We passed our TRA ages ago and I've been the sticking point as i started to get cold feet and thus havent sent of the other stuff, HOWEVER its being posted this week!

hi we are also going to nsw hubby is a turner/miller engineer classed as a 1st class machinist in oz. we have been doing a lot of ground work and liked the area of Gosford, lovely beaches,good housing and good schooling for the kids(5) and (10). using hubby as the main applicant. We also live not far from Newcastle uk side lol. gonna spend one last christmas over here, son will then start secondary school in the febuary over there,ideal time.get in touch,let us know how you are getting on.could start a NSW possee !!!!!!!!!!!
