Hi everyone... We are now away on sorting out my Childcare Course, in order for us to get into Oz!
My telephone interview is scheduled for tonight (or early tomorrow morning : ie between 10 p.m. tonight, and 2 a.m. Tuesday morning!
I am soooooooooo excited, that I can hardly think straight. After this, is the fairly long road to getting Visas organised, etc. etc. But at least once this is done, we are on our way forward.
Wish me luck everyone! It's great to have found some people in the same / similar boat, and it certainly keeps you strong through the 'orrible bits!
I look forward to telling you, tomorrow morning, that I have been accepted! Not even thinking about how I'd feel if he does not accept me onto the Course.... as this really is our last possible way in!
GOOD LUCK Andrea I hope the interview goes well and you get in. If you are successfull when does your course start? Is the course 2 years? We are having to wait for pathway D to reopen but if this does not happen this would be a good option for us, I could do a childcare course. Which area of Australia are you looking to move to?
The Childcare Training Centre is in Southport, Goldcoast, so we will be there for the duration of the Course. The Course is one year in length, when you would normally be required to do a two year Course to get in. With this one, however, you get a fully sponsored Childcare position at the end of the Course.... which could be anywhere in Oz - though obviously you do have some say in where you wanna end up! The guy that runs the Course, ie: the Head of the Facility, is lovely! Am using 'This Is Australia Migration Services', who have been very, very helpful, so far. ************** is the guy I am dealing with, though I have since'met' a couple of people, through this site, who are using Laura, who works for Matthew, and they have been more than impressed with her.
Remember to prepare some good questions ready for them to answer and dont have anything to drink before.
A good tip I have heard recently is to stand up while you are talking to them apparently it makes you sound better during the interview.
Remember you always wanted to work with kids from an early age and if anyone one askes you is there anything you find annoying about kids say NO. i was once caught out with that question while being interviewed at the age of 18 to work in a primary school needless to say I didnt get the job.
