Dog beaches NSW

Hi
Does anyone know any beaches that allow dogs in or around Sydney?
We dont mind travelling, south towards Wollongong and maybe a bit further would be better than north but wouldnt mind either.

Dogs are out of quarantine and we'd like to take them for a good run & swim.

Thanks
Sam x

Sam, there are no specific beaches where you are allowed to take dogs, but as long as you keep well away from the main beaches where the lifeguards are & pick up the dog mess, no one seems to worry too much.
I take my dog to a beach around Port Kembla, [MM beach] which is on the southern side of the PK harbour & between the harbour and Hill 60 [Lookout] there are no lifeguards there and many people take their dogs there from time to time, Behind the Gong entertainment centre is South Beach, the southern part of that can be accessed from the southern part of the Gong golf club, there are 2 roads to choose from to get to that area.
The gongs north beach is Where the Novotel is, there is a park [Stuart Park] just below it with plenty of parking, on the northern side of the park is Fairy Creek, across the creek is a beach that runs right up to Fairy Meadow, so that is also a good place to take the dog's.

Thanks Skippy
Hopefully we'll get there next weekend, they could really do with a good run (on extender leads, dont trust them not to swim off to NZ!) hope the weathers better than yesterday!

Sam x
